FMX Drag Sheets for Airbag Protection and Easy Moving

FMX Drag Sheets: Protect Your Airbag and Make Moving Easier

An FMX drag sheet is a heavy-duty protective sheet designed to sit underneath an FMX landing airbag. It helps protect the underside of the airbag from rough ground, dirt, stones and other debris while also making the airbag easier to move during setup and pack-down. For anyone using an FMX airbag regularly, a drag sheet is a valuable addition that can help protect the equipment and make handling a large landing system more manageable.

What is an FMX drag sheet?

An FMX drag sheet is positioned underneath the airbag before inflation. It creates a protective layer between the airbag and the ground, helping reduce contact with surfaces that may cause unnecessary wear or damage.

Once the airbag is deflated, the drag sheet can also assist with moving the folded airbag across the ground. This is especially useful for large FMX airbags used at training facilities, private compounds, demonstrations and events.

Why use a drag sheet under an FMX airbag?

FMX airbags are designed to be durable, but the underside can still be exposed to considerable wear during transport and setup. Dragging an airbag directly across concrete, gravel, dirt or other rough surfaces may cause damage over time.

Using a drag sheet can help:

  • Protect the underside of the airbag

  • Reduce contact with sharp stones and rough ground

  • Make setup and pack-down easier

  • Assist with moving the deflated airbag

  • Keep the underside cleaner

  • Reduce unnecessary wear during regular use

  • Help extend the working life of the airbag

A drag sheet is particularly useful when the airbag needs to be moved regularly or used across different locations.

When is an FMX drag sheet recommended?

An FMX drag sheet is recommended whenever an airbag is regularly used outdoors, moved between locations or placed on surfaces that may cause additional wear.

It can be especially helpful when the airbag is being used on:

  • Dirt

  • Gravel

  • Concrete

  • Asphalt

  • Grass

  • Compacted outdoor surfaces

  • Temporary event locations

The ground should still be checked carefully before setup. The drag sheet is designed to provide an additional layer of protection, but it does not make it safe to place an airbag over sharp objects, broken glass, exposed metal or other hazardous debris.
