REPAIRING YOUR AIRBAG | DD AIRBAGS

Our airbags are built tough and designed to handle years of riding, so repairs are rarely needed. But on the off chance you do find yourself needing to make a small repair, fixing it is quick and easy.

Below, we’ve outlined 5 simple steps that will have your airbag landing patched up and repaired in less than 5 minutes.

Step 1: Deflate and Clean

Start by fully deflating the airbag. Wipe down the damaged area with a clean cloth to remove any dirt, dust, or debris. A clean surface ensures the patch sticks properly.

Step 2: Cut Your Patch

Measure and cut a patch that’s large enough to cover the damaged area with a good margin around the edges.

Step 3: Apply Glue and Place Patch

Apply a generous amount of glue to the back of the patch and around the section of the airbag needing to be repaired. Carefully position the patch over the area and press down firmly, making sure there are no loose edges.

Step 4: Speed Up the Drying Process (optional)

Use a heat gun (or a hair dryer if you don’t have one). Hold it about 2 ft away from the patched area and move it in a circular motion for 1–2 minutes. This helps the glue bond faster and more securely.

Step 5: Let It Set

Allow the repair to set for at least 4 hours before re-inflating the airbag. If the weather is cold or damp, it’s best to leave it overnight before use.

Yes. All DD Airbags come with a repair kit, and small punctures or cuts can be fixed at home in just a few minutes by following the step-by-step instructions above.

When applied correctly, a patch is permanent. The repair will hold up just as strong as the original material. After the repair is complete, the patch will hold strong so you’ll never have to worry about this area again.
